Ingredients
- 1 mediun Onion chopped
- 1 medium bell pepper chopped
- 1 rib celery chopped
- 1 medium carrot chopped
- 5 cloves garlic smashed
- 5 cups water
- 2 cups black-eyed peas fresh, frozen or dried
- 1 15 oz can tomatos diced
- 1 tsp oregano dried
- 1 tsp salt or more to taste
- 1/8 tsp cayenne pepper dried
- 1 Tbsp Orange Habanero Sauce Blacklick® Spice Company
- 1/2 tsp black pepper ground
- 1/2 tsp liquid smoke
- 1 Tbsp liquid aminos
- 1/2 Tbsp nutritional yeast
- 1/4 tsp Cumin
- 1/4 tsp dill

Instructions
- if using dry beans, soak overnight in cold water, and drain. assemble all ingredients.
- Add onion, salt, bell pepper, celery, carrot garlic to pot with water. Bring to a boil and add peas and remaining ingredients, return to a boil and add enough water to cover peas by 1 inch.
- Cook until peas are completely tender about 1 1/2 hour. Add additional water if necessary.
- When tender add liquid smoke and cook 5 minutes more. Serve with rice.
